The Weeknd – False Alarm [Single Premiere]
The Weeknd shares the second offering from his forthcoming third studio album ‘Starboy’. Listen to the new track titled ‘False Alarm’ here.
Whilst title track and lead single ‘Starboy’ continues to climb the charts worldwide, Canadian crooner The Weeknd serves up another taste of his upcoming album of the same name which is set for release 25th November. ‘Starboy’ the album will contain a boastful 18 tracks, the names of which are yet to be revealed, including the new promotional single ‘False Alarm’.
The first few seconds start off unassumingly on ‘False Alarm’ with a distorted, sinister sound familiar to a lot of The Weeknd’s production but the track quickly switches gears launching into a surging, up-beat territory incorporating elements of 80s new-wave and contemporary pop-rock, quite the contrast from the the crooner’s past catalogue and lead single ‘Starboy’, but refreshing nonetheless.
“She always leaves the man she loves / But the diamonds are forever / She always seems to be alone / But the diamonds make it better” The Weeknd sings of a materialistic lover with Doc McKinney & Cirkut again helming the production, this time providing a frenetic percussion and spacey synths for Abel to swoon over before the track ends on an eerie note.
