Sophie Beem – I Got It (ft. Fetty Wap)

Beyoncé’s label Parkwood Entertainment signee and emerging artist Sophie Beem premieres her brand new single ‘I Got It’, featuring Fetty Wap.

You may have heard Sophie Beem showcase her impressive pipes before when she won over judges Demi Lovato, LA Reid, Britney Spears and Simon Cowell on the American version of The X Factor in 2012 where Simon commented at the time: “There are some people who are born to do this, and you are one of them.” Although she did not advance further than the top 40 finalists, the 16-year old has since signed to Beyoncé’s management company Parkwood Entertainment alongside sister-act duo Chloe and Halle Bailey for five-year contracts totaling $1.5million.

Sophie Beem arrives today with her latest offering ‘I Got It’, the second song from the singer, following the previous release of ‘Skyline’. The track notably interpolates a section of Young MC’s classic ‘Bust A Move’, which serves as the hook and the young pop star in the making displays her promising vocals over the bright and bouncy, RnBass style production – helmed by ROBOPOP – whilst 2016 Hip-Hop Cash Prince Fetty Wap adds some exposure to the song with his malleable vocals.

“I liked the idea of picking a throwback song and changing up the lyrics and making it into something fresh and new,” Sophie told Complex of ‘I Got It’, “Then I thought Fetty would sound great on the track, and that’s how it came about.”

With a strong team behind her and bags of potential, you should expect to hear a lot more from Sophie Beem who has been busy in the studio working on her debut album. Listen to ‘I Got It’ below along with ‘Skyline’ if you missed it:
