New: Hailee Steinfeld – Love Myself
The former child star tries her hand at a music career with her debut single.
Since being nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her role in 2010’s True Grit, appearing in Pitch Perfect 2 and in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” video, Hailee Steinfield has been working on her foray into a pop career under a contract with Republic and is here with the first single off her new project.
“Love Myself,” co-wrote by Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter (Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez), is not the immature, bubblegum kind of song you’d expect from an 18-year old’s introduction into the pop scene. The confident tune is a breath of fresh air, with tender xylophone-laced verses leading up to a self-empowering, explosive chorus featuring chants of “I Love Me!”.
