Jidenna – Chief Don’t Run [Single Premiere]

Jidenna Chief Don't Run

Nigerian-American rapper/singer Jidenna returns with his brand new single ‘Chief Don’t Run’ taken from his forthcoming debut album ‘Long Live the Chief’.

‘Classic Man’ hitmaker Jidenna resurfaces with a brand new track taken from his Wondaland/Epic Records debut. On the introspective ‘Chief Don’t Run’ the 31-year old raps about his journey from rags to riches, “Me and mom in the shack in the woods bro / I was sleepin’ on the floor with the oven door open / While I dreamt about the places that I would go” Jidenna rhymes over a hard-hitting, triumphant hip-hop instrumental helmed by Nana Kwaben, Nate Wonder and Volta. ‘Chief Don’t Run’ is a further taste of Jidenna’s upcoming Wondaland/Epic Records debut album ‘Long Live the Chief’, which he previewed last week in L.A. “You can expect swank,” he told “You can expect an album that feels like the adventures of classic man. What does a classic man do when he’s in his hotel? What does he do when he explores South Central L.A. all the way to Dubai? You can expect the best album in 2016, hands down, feet down.”
