Drake – Too Good (ft. Rihanna) [New Track]
With Drake’s long-awaited fourth studio album ‘Views’ now out there and available to download comes the surprise new collaboration with Rihanna on album cut ‘Too Good’.
Following the obliteration of charts worldwide with ‘Work’, Rihanna returns the favour and hops on Drake’s ‘Views’ album cut ‘Too Good’ marking the pair’s fourth collaboration. Drake spoke about their latest hookup during an interview with Zane Lowe on OVOSOUND Radio, “She got in the studio and just bodied it,” he said. “It was flawless victory when she sent it back. Everything was perfect.. It wouldn’t be a record without Rihanna, we do well together as a team.”
The above statement rings true on ‘Too Good’ which further demonstrates the pair’s irrepressible musical chemistry when it comes to recording a duet. “And last night I think I lost my patience / Last night I got high as your expectations” Drake sings feeling his love is being taken for granted whilst Rihanna responds about being overworked in the relationship.
‘Too Good’ interpolates Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan’s ‘Love Yuh Bad’ and was produced by Nineteen85 and Maneesh Bidaye who provide the island-flavoured beat with a brisk dancehall percussion and underlying mellow guitar chords which, combined with the duo’s infectious singalong sway with their words, makes the track an inevitable future single choice to add to their ever-growing collection of hits. Drake’s fourth studio album ‘Views’ premiered on Apple Music’s OVO Sound Radio show on April 28 after an interview with Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe; it was officially released on the same night on Apple Music and iTunes exclusively. In addition to Rihanna, the 20-track project, previously titled Views from the 6, features appearances from Future, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Pimp C, and dvsn.
“It’s something that I’ve been working really hard on, myself and 40,” Drake said during a recent episode of OVOSOUND Radio in regards to his new album ‘Views’. “Trying to craft a lifestyle track, a sound for our city…It’s not a short ting. There’s a lot of music on there. You’ll have your full share of Drake music for the summer and for the year—forever.”
