Chris Brown – Grass Ain’t Greener [Single Premiere]
Chris Brown announces his upcoming eighth studio album ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’ and premieres the first single off the project ‘Grass Ain’t Greener’.
Theres no letting up with Chris Brown who literally just wrapped up promotion for his 2015 album ‘Royalty’ with three remixes for his most recent single ‘Back To Sleep’ but the project failed to yield a true hit and, in my opinion, was one of his most lacklustre efforts to date. For better or for worse, the 27-year old doesn’t take a moment to breath and continues his string of new music with a brand new single.
“You used to be the one to talk to on the side / Waiting for my love to break up” Chris Brown croons on the gloomy banger addressing a relationship turned sour after realising his girl’s true colour. ‘Grass Ain’t Greener’ was written by Brown with the collaboration of Floyd Bentley, Christopher Dotson, Lyrica Anderson and Bobby Joseph Turner, Jr. whilst production was helmed by T. Minus’ protégé Nikhil Seetharam (Drake, Lil Wayne) who lays the groundwork of the R&B banger with wispy synths and a trap-influenced percussion. Listen below:
