Bruno Mars – 24K Magic [Video Premiere]
Bruno Mars marks his anticipated return to the music scene with the premiere of the lead single and title track ’24K Magic’ taken from his upcoming third studio album of the same name.
’24K Magic’ comes four years after Bruno Mars’ Billboard 200 chart-topping album ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’, spawning the hit singles ‘Locked Out of Heaven’, ‘Treasure’ and ‘When I Was Your Man’. In the interim, since his second studio album Mars has been keeping busy including his collaboration with Mark Ronson on 2015’s mega global smash ‘Uptown Funk’, co-writing and co-producing Adele’s 25 track ‘All I Ask’ and performances at both the 2014 and 2016 Super Bowl Half Time shows.
“You can call it my first single, but I call it the invitation to the party”, Mars said of his new single, and what a party it is! Following in the same vein as ‘Uptown Funk’, ’24K Magic’ is a dazzling, funked-up stomper but, unlike its predecessor, the track is dripping in a saccharine electronica and hip-hop production more inspired by the ’80s than the ’70s groove of ‘Funk’.
“Ooh shit, I’m a dangerous man with some money in my pocket / So many pretty girls around me and they waking up the rocket” Mars sings toasting to the lavish lifestyle and the perks that come along with it. With the back and forth chanting, California Love-esque vocoder-affected ad-libs and irresistible arrangement produced by Shampoo Press & Curl, with additional production by The Stereotypes, Bruno Mars unquestionably has another hit on his hands.
