Ariana Grande – Dangerous Woman (Single Premiere)
Pop powerhouse Ariana Grande reinvents herself on the true first single and title track from her recently renamed upcoming third album ‘Dangerous Woman’.
I loved me a bit of the infectious ‘Focus’ and thought it had all the right ingredients for a smash but, following its moderate success, it appears listeners were not a fan of the similarities it had to ‘Problem’ and wanted something different. Ariana Grande and her label have acknowledged the reception ultimately demoting ‘Focus’ to buzz status, retitling the album to the more fierce ‘Dangerous Woman’ and choosing the title track as the true lead single.
Wise decision indeed! ‘Dangerous Woman’ is a scorchingly alluring slice of progressive power-pop bringing a fresh style for Ariana Grande who goes above and beyond in making her own, not as instantly radio-friendly as ‘Focus’ but a sound more invigorating with far more longevity. “Somethin’ ’bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman / Somethin’ ’bout you makes me wanna do things that I shouldn’t”, the 22-year old siren coos over Max Martin and Johan Carlsson’s dramatic production consisting of surging-smoky guitars and crashing drums whilst Grande reigns her vocals in for a more restraint and tempting delivery. In preparation for the release of her album ‘Dangerous Woman’, Ariana Grande hosted a live chat to give fans a chance to ask the singer about the upcoming album. One of the questions that came up involved Grande’s decision to change the title of her album from ‘Moonlight’. “’Moonlight’ is a lovely song and it’s a lovely title. It’s really romantic, and it definitely ties together the old music and the new music,” Grande told fans. “But ‘Dangerous Woman’ is a lot stronger. I want to be empowering my fans, I feel like my personal growth is reflected in the sound. I’m really proud of it… To me, a dangerous woman is someone who’s not afraid to take a stand, be herself and to be honest.”
‘Dangerous Woman’ is the upcoming third studio album by American singer Ariana Grande. It is set to be released on May 20, 2016, by Republic Records and is the follow-up to her previous studio album, ‘My Everything’. ‘Be Alright’ will be released as a promotional single on March 18, 2016.
